This decision coming from a need that has been growing as Ivory Garden has expanded. All of the positions listed above are now filled by volunteers who have demonstrated exceptional skills and loyalty to both the people whom we serve as well as Ivory Garden and each other. We have found ourself at a standstill for what we can do without more staff. When faced with the reality of needing to either limit what we provide or to open up positions for more volunteers, we juggled what we can do and what we could do with more help.
This is an exciting time for everyone. With over a decade of experience, we have exceeded our goals and mission. As a nonprofit organization, we have worked together to provide survivors with a safe, credible online forum as well as having successfully organized and executed three international conferences. We are now planning for the fourth conference, which will be held in Oct. 2017. We are supported and sponsored by other nonprofit and professional organizations. We have not only proved our value to society but also, our credibility and integrity as a nonprofit organization. I feel truly honored to be a part of such a valuable team of people.
We will be looking for professional folks who are motivated toward fulfilling the mission statement of Ivory Garden:
Ivory Garden is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit charitable organization which provides programs and resources that support survivors and those who support survivors of childhood trauma, as well as raising public and professional awareness of the effects of childhood trauma:
1). Provide international forums, and chat rooms where folks who live with the effects of childhood trauma, as well as families, friends, mental health professionals, educators and other supporters can meet, share experiences, and find valid resources in safe and respectful environments.
2). Provide educational materials and opportunities to survivors of childhood trauma in order to further understand and promote healing.
3) Provide educational opportunities to those who support survivors of childhood trauma including: family, friends, mental health professionals, educators, and other interested parties.
4). Provide other needed services in support of the Mission, as determined by the Board of Directors of Ivory Garden.
Once we announce these positions, I expect that each will be filled quickly by amazing folks who support us and want to be a part of our organization.
We will announce each position separately, asking for resumes and/or CV's. We will include clear position-descriptions for each opening. All qualified candidates will be interviewed and considered.
Though we will be recruiting qualified professionals for each position, we will also be providing training and supervision to ensure that Ivory Garden remains a unique team of folks who work together to provide all the resources that are part of our goals and mission. A knowledge about nonprofit organization and their value to the public is also necessary, but can be learned from the training that will be provided.
This announcement is to alert those who may already be members of Ivory Garden and are interested in being more actively involved with the organization.
If you are interested, know that we will begin making these positions public within the next month - recruiting forum staff positions first.
We want everyone to know that we are grateful to all who hold positions at this time. We are not looking to 'replace' anyone. If current staff are interested in changing positions, let me know also.
Thank you for reading. If you have questions or input, please contact me.
