Today is a day of remembering. I included Pete Seeger's song - "Where Have All the Flowers Gone", a song that I remember from the 60's. For a biography of Pete Seeger - http://www.biography.com/people/pete-seeger-9542618 .
This song, moved the hearts of a world - and, brings tears to my eyes as I listen to it today. Pete Seeger was one example of a man who never stopped fighting for what was right.
I remember the 60's - a time when we all knew things could get better, a time of hope and sorrow for those whom we lost, a time when freedom of speech was practiced, a time of change, a time when songs like this really meant something.
Today, I hear this song - and, I can 'feel' and know only the sorrow in my heart, the loss that is no longer measurable, a time to mourn, remember, and honor those who have given their lives in the pursuit of freedom and equality for all. Mostly, a time when tomorrow, we start anew.
